We have had a great day celebrating Australia day. We enjoyed creating pictures of Captain Cook’s ship Endeavour. The children used natural resources and worked in groups to create some amazing works of art. I was really impressed with how well they worked as a team and how they used the resources. They then took part in a challenge in class Italy to build a model of Sydney Harbour Bridge
that was strong enough to hold a car. Miss Dray reported back to me that this brought out the competitive side of the children as they worked to create the strongest model.
Finally, in class France, they worked on our large piece of aboriginal artwork that we are hoping to display in school. Each child in key stage one will have contributed to this.
It was a great morning and watch this space to see the reports that the children will be writing to tell you in more detail about what they did !
